Our Enhancement Programs

Enhancement Dance Teams

Here at MJDS, we feel that all students have the potential to be a great dancer and performer, and that our Enhancement Dance Team experience will only furthermore develop your love of dance and passion for performing. We are so excited to be able to offer these opportunities to our students and believe it strengthens our dance family and gives students more confidence, experience, increased strength and skills and most importantly, teamwork!

We also love the fact that the core of our studio is performing and sharing our love of dance, which allows our EP Dancers to not only compete in local competitions, but have the opportunity to also partake in local eisteddfods and local community performances. Our EP dancers will also participate in our annual Dance Explosion Concert at the end of the year and truly experience the heart of what Maxi-Jazz has been known and loved for over 36 years.

Enhancement Cheer Teams

Cheerleading is a fantastic way of connecting a group of people together and it also promotes team building in a positive way.  Every member is important and there should never be any favouritism, because at the end of the day the flyers cannot fly without their bases and vice versa.  Being part of a cheerleading squad will give you brilliant team building skills and you will be able to carry these skills with you throughout your working life.  Being a good member of a team is a very valuable trait to have as a person and cheerleading is one of the best ways to practise these skills.

We love the fact that at MJDS the core of our studio is performing and sharing our love of dance, which allows our EP Cheerleaders, just like our dancers, to not only compete in local competitions, but have the opportunity to also partake in local eisteddfods and local community performances. Our EP cheerleaders will also participate in our annual Dance Explosion Concert at the end of the year and truly experience the heart of what Maxi-Jazz has been known and loved for over 34 years.

Dance Doubles

Dance Doubles are available for Enhancement program students only and will be offered from Term 2.

Our Dance Double students will be able to compete in local competitions and eisteddfods, with a choice on which ones you will attend.

Students will also be able to choose either Jazz, Hip Hop or Pom for their styles, or for those duos that are ready to enhance their experience to the next level, you could do all 3!

No matter the experience you chose within your dance double, the duo will be required to take weekly private lessons as well as your normal EP requirements.

More information will be available towards the end of Term 1 as we start to prepare availability for teachers and students, as well as upcoming competitions and eisteddfods.

Enhancement Team Placement Day!

READY TO JOIN AN ENHANCEMENT DANCE OR CHEER TEAM?

ENHANCEMENT PLACEMENT DAY

This year we will be holding a placement day for all our committed students to ensure everyone is placed in the correct team, with age, ability and skill level taken into account. All students that take place on the placement day will automatically be placed in a team, which will be advised in late December.

Due to teams being created based upon the placement days, students will be required to sign an online commitment form to ensure they’re committed to the Maxi-Jazz Enhancement Teams for the entire season. If you change your mind after the placement day, you will have until Friday 15th December 2023 to notify us in writing that the student no longer wishes to be a part of the MJDS Enhancement Program so that amendments can be made.
